2026 Central Valley Go Red for Women Luncheon: Supporting Women’s Heart and Brain Health

At Portfolio Advisors Inc., we believe that strong communities are built when people come together to support causes that create lasting impact. We were honored to attend the 2026 Central Valley Go Red for Women Luncheon, hosted by the American Heart Association, and to stand alongside so many dedicated advocates, healthcare professionals, survivors, volunteers, and community leaders committed to improving women’s heart and brain health.

Our CEO and Senior Financial Advisor, Tina Mistry, was proud to attend this meaningful event and support a mission that is making a real difference for women and families throughout the Central Valley.

This inspiring gathering served as a powerful reminder that when women are healthy, families and communities are stronger.

Raising Awareness About the Leading Threat to Women’s Health

Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death for women, yet many women are still unaware of their personal risk factors or may not have access to the education and care they need.

The Go Red for Women movement was created to change that.

Through research, advocacy, and community outreach, the American Heart Association is helping ensure that women are seen, heard, and supported at every stage of life. The luncheon was about far more than wearing red — it was about raising awareness, encouraging important conversations, and taking action that can save lives.

Local Impact Across the Central Valley

During the event, Kelley Berry shared several ways the organization is making a difference locally, including:

  • Supporting patients managing high blood pressure through clinical training and at-home monitoring resources
  • Partnering with food banks and pantries to identify and address nutrition insecurity
  • Helping community organizations develop cardiac emergency response plans
  • Expanding the Nation of Lifesavers through CPR education and awareness

These efforts demonstrate how meaningful change happens when education, research, and community partnerships come together.

Honoring Stories of Strength and Resilience

One of the most moving parts of the luncheon was hearing from survivors and ambassadors who shared their personal journeys with heart disease and congenital heart conditions.

Their stories underscored the importance of early detection, self-advocacy, and continued investment in lifesaving research. These firsthand experiences brought the mission to life and reminded everyone in attendance why this work matters so deeply.

A Community United for a Meaningful Cause

The event also featured a health expo, educational sessions, a silent auction, and opportunities for attendees to support the American Heart Association’s mission through charitable giving.

Tina shared how inspiring it was to see so many individuals and organizations come together around a common purpose: ensuring that women have the knowledge, resources, and support they need to live longer, healthier lives.
